Gastec Calibration gas
Precise calibration is the lifeline of a detector tube. GASTEC takes particular pride in the painstaking care it takes to keep any concentration fluctuations due to possible adherence of gas molecules to the inside of the storage or transfer vessels to an absolutely insignificant minimum. GASTEC is always on the cutting edge of new developments and technologies as it was quick to adopt innovative and accurate calibration gas generating methods such as the permeation tube or the gas diffusion tube principles. GASTEC is highly regarded also as a pioneer of calibration gas technology.
Permeation tube
A permeation tube is a sealed tube, that has a uniform inner diametre, is filled with a highly pure liquefied target gas, and is extremely stable.
If the permeation tube is maintained at a fixed temperature in our proprietary calibration gas generating equipment, liquefied gas will permeate from the detector tube at a fixed flowrate. When this combines with a fixed quantity of dilution gas, calibration gas of the desired concentration is continuously generated.
Diffusion tube
A diffusion tube is a glass tube that consists of a liquid container and a diffuser with a uniform inner diametre. A pure and very stable target liquid is put into the liquid container using a glass syringe. If the tube is kept at a constant temperature, the liquid evaporates and diffuses at a constant rate and mixes with the dilution gas whereby the calibration gas of the desired concentration is continuously generated.
High pressure gas cylinder
Calibration gases are supplied in high-pressure gas cylinders, which have been prepared in accordance with Japanese Industrial Standard JIS K0001 to K0007.
Static dilution
With this method, a prescribed amount of highly purified gas or liquid of the target substance is placed in a glass container (20 litres or more), and is diluted with air or nitrogen gas to generate the desired concentration of target gas.
Dynamic dilution
With this method, the flowrate of a precisely determined concentration of target gas and of the dilution gas are regulated to continuously generate the desired concentration of the target gas.

FILTRATION CONTROL IN NORTHAMPTON HAPPY ABOUT ALF 114 INSTALLATION
17.04.2023
Following the successful factory acceptance test of a new ALF 114 air filter testing system, we are now pleased to announce the smooth installation and final acceptance at our UK customer Filtration Control in Northampton. With the help of our local partner Adaptive Instruments, the four-man team of Topas experts completed the installation and acceptance of our largest test system specifically designed for air filter testing to ISO 16890, EN 779 and ASHRAE 52.2 standards within five days. “With Topas test systems, we prove our quality to important leaders in the HVAC sectors worldwide." says Adam Hughes from Filtration Control, who produce over 15,000 filters a week. There is no better compliment than that - many thanks to Northampton!

SALES PARTNER FIT FOR THE CLEANROOM
03.05.2023
How is a cleanroom class confirmed? What technologies are in the Topas measurement set for the acceptance of cleanroom systems and how do they work? At the current webinar, Topas knowledge about cleanroom applications and equipment was shared in short lectures. Particularly exciting was the detailed demonstration of the CRQWin software for acceptance testing according to ISO 14644 and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practise). A big plus among customers is the error prevention and significant time saving, as CRQWin enables simultaneous measurements of multiple particle counters. The high level of interest from various markets showed us how important the topic is to our international sales partners and thus to our customers.

The new high flow option allows greater flexibility in applications and can increase production throughput while meeting particle size and concentration specifications.
OWINGS MILLS, MD — 21 July 2021 — Air Techniques International (ATI), a global leader in the design and manufacture of specialized testing equipment for HEPA filters, media, filter cartridges, respirators, and protective masks, announced today the addition of the High Flow EN 13274-7:2019 compliant Paraffin Oil option to its 100X Automated Filter Tester lineup. The new High Flow option provides greater flexibility for testing a wider range of masks and cartridges, including PAPR cartridges, and increases production throughput vs. standard flow options.

“The High Flow option is a valuable feature for manufacturers looking to increase production rates while still complying with the strict standards for particle size and concentration specified in the EN 13274-7:2019 Paraffin Test,” said Gautam Patel, Global Product Manager. By offering a flow rate of 170 L/min vs. the standard rate of 120 L/min manufacturers can benefit from increased production throughput by testing multiple filter cartridges at once.
The High Flow option also allows testing of a wider range of applications. “A common application that requires a higher aerosol challenge flow rate is the testing of PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator) filter cartridges. PAPRs typically require flow rates much higher than standard filter cartridges,” said Patel. The High Flow option is ideal for EN 12941 and EN 12942 PAPR testing standards.
The High Flow option allows more cartridges to be tested at once vs. standard flow rate units. This is important to manufacturers using the 100X in their high-capacity automated production lines. Complete test cycles can be performed in as little as six seconds.
To order the High Flow option, simply specify it at the time of order. Standard lead times apply, which currently are an industry low of 8-10 weeks.
In addition to EN 13274-7:2019, the 100X Automated Filter Tester product range meets other major industry standards, such as NIOSH 42 CFR Part 84, GB 2626, ISO 23328, JICOSH/JMOL, ASTM F3502-21, and more. The 100X Automated Filter Tester is used worldwide in production, quality control, and R&D applications to test and validate filter media, cartridges, and respirators.
